All American switches schools
All American out of Grimsley high school Mark Nadler signed with Christ School this week. Christ School seems to have been working hard this off season. Hopefully they will come play some Charlotte teams. This also means bad news for Grimsley fans...

Team Carolina Red NCSLA
Congrats to TC-Red on winning the championship - FULL team effort. D. Kane scores last 2 goals to tie and then the game winner in OT!

Weddington/Cuthbertson
I believe the goalie you are talking about was actually a second line attackman whom decided to try the posistion and did very well, he will be a senior this year and will give some stability to the posistion if Burnam decides to play him there.

As for Cuthbertson, evryone needs to lighten up including the coach. You need to have some thick skin when coaching HS sports and cannot be bothered by parents and their comments. Coach Dodd, his staff and many volunteer parents did a great job in gettin LAX started at the new school. Passing the torch to a coach who really has no connection to the team except to build the program and eventually be a winner is probably the best thing that Cuthbertson can do. It is very hard to be a coach and a parent as well , you will always be questioned of the decisions you make (especially when playing certain players over others).

Weddington H.S.
I think they have a very good future with this upcoming season. They are Losing 3 Main starters in which it will be 1 at each position. They have returning attackman Burnham and Kennedy along with a good group of Middies And Defensemen. The question of this team is the goalie position, but ive heard the goalie changed at the end of last year and held pretty solid against possibly 3 Top 10 teams of last season. I dont know if he was a senior or what not but if not then they should have a solid season. I see them making it a ways into the playoffs!

Cuthbertson ...
... beat Mooresville and Freedom twice each, the two worst teams in the state. That's how they got to 4-9.

Cuthbertson bashing | MOVE IMAGE PLEASE
As a first year school and first year team, Cuth boys' varsity achieved a 4-9 record and with several close games could have had a .500 season, a remarkable first season with a young, inexperienced team and no seniors. It is a new and growing program with dedicated and committed players which will be competitive with the elite area programs very soon.

End of year parent surveys were overwhelmingly positive and the booster club, AD and principal were very pleased with our season, organization, team behavior and level of coaching. I and my coaching staff were invited to return next year; however due to work commitments and my belief that varsity programs are better served by non-parent coaches I chose to step down as coach and remain as sport commissioner for the HS and MS boys and girls programs, building and expanding our programs. We are now adding a MS girls program and expect to have over 120 boys and girls playing in Cuth HS and MS next spring.

Unfortunately there are certain individuals with an axe to grind who have decided to hide behind mean-spirited, classless and cowardly anonymous forum postings, denigrating me , our coaches and our players. These postings are misleading and reflect poorly and inaccurately on the school, volunteer coaches, players and parents who worked hard to get a new program off the ground, a program which you somehow claim to support. These individuals are a blight on the honorable sport of lacrosse and should be ashamed.

Otherwise, watch out for Cuth HS lacrosse - don't write us off, we will be surprising some teams next spring.

PDS 2011
this upcoming year for pds is gonna be rough. with the loss of sherrill, 64 goals, the replacements are all sophomores. also the loss of onak and swimmer, 93 goals, will be replaced by at least one sophomore. the last attack position as yet to be determined. loosing zimmerman and dunville will be rough for the defense.

U-19
Most tournaments that Team Carolina plays in both now and in the past are U-19. Yes that mean that graduated seniors can play. It's just how it is. If anything it helps the kids get ready for the real deal.

Blue Ridge Classic | MOVE IMAGE PLEASE
The Asheville Men's Lacrosse Club put on yet another killer tournament during Bele Chere this yerar. This year some of the best lacrosse players on the planet decided to show up. Casey and Mike Powell made the trip, as did Liam Banks, John Galloway and Chip Mayer. Anybody interested in playing some great competition or seeing some great lacrosse should make the trip to Asehville for the tournament next year. It's always the 3rd full weekend in July!

Answer
Yes, if the tournament allows U-19. The Long Island Lacrosse Classic had many graduated players on their way to DI schools as well because they allow U-19 to allow for kids attending "post grad" schools. Some teams just abuse the rule to allow already committed players who have graduated to help their teams win.

Such is life.

TC Elite | MOVE IMAGE PLEASE
TC went 6-2 against teams with a combined 38-26 record (Titanium counted twice). They outscored their opponents by a combined 65-38 and knocked off two group winners (Long Island 1 & Smithtown 1) A very successful showing if you ask me.

Titanium Elite
Champ Camp allows recent high school graduates to play in the tournament. Titanium Elite wanted to beat Dukes, who won the tournament again for the 4th time.

Cuthberson
Any news on who is replacing Jim Dodd as coach for Cuthbertson HS? Rumor is Coach Desmond was in the running? - They definitley need someone who will instill some discipline and hopefully build a program to compete against the elite teams in the Charlotte area and beyond. I watched many games last year and they do have some talent and some good players coming up from their middle school program but without the right coach I do not see any improvement.

5th Year Sr.
By "graduated seniors," I think the poster meant guys who graduated regular high school in '10 but who are going to do a 5th year of high school at a prep school somewhere.
