Well AK is get the best freshman of them all in kyle segal the big hitting D-pole.Charlotte Latin has to wait another year for the promising young attackman carson song. PD gets a veryfast and hard working player in garret lunkin who should be a great addition to the team. Providence is coming out with D-pole jacob kaplin wo is very skilled at the positon but also gets Faceoff middie rihie bash the famous greg bash's little brother. All of these players should be on their varsity teams next year and sound be good additons to their teams, good luck boys!!!!!!!!!

2-1 today. Knocked out of the championship bracket by Titanium Elite (a team with a bunch of graduated seniors, most of whom are going on to play at top DI schools).

I think Lake Norman will be good. And Ardrey Kell should have its best season to date.

No Trip for Iroquois Team Published: July 17, 2010 Iroquois lacrosse players who refused to travel on passports issued by the United States and Canada because they did not consider themselves citizens of those countries have exhausted their last option for going to the sport’s world championship in England. Leaders of the Iroquois Nationals squad announced that a last-ditch attempt to persuade British officials to recognize their passports had failed. The team’s last scheduled game was to take place Sunday. Team officials had continued efforts to obtain visas for the players before getting yet another rejection from British officials on Saturday afternoon.

Best Teams

I think the top 10 will be the usual guys. Latin will be good as will Catholic, CD, PDS, PDS,MP, Wedd, LKN,AK. I think LKN is going to be hard to beat due to not losing any seniors and the success they are having over the summer. Should be a great season of Lax

best team in charlotte for 2011 season
| MOVE IMAGE PLEASE |

Who do yall think will be the best team in charlotte next year? In my opinion, it has got to be charlotte latin. They only lost three seniors last year, and with the additions of returning players, Carson Clough (Junior) and Reid LeDonne (Senior), they are going to be tough to play against

weddington won't be that good but there isn't anyone stopping burnam and kennedy. If they can put in the points that are needed, weddington should be able to keep up with everyone

They will not be deep at all. The will have Burnam and Kennedy at attack.. who knows who the other atackman will be. 1st line mids will be solid and the d will be pretty good. The goalie position is prob still a question.

Ryan Flanagan
|
Let's all congratulate Ryan Flanagan, UNC’s all-American defender, for reminding us about what is really important in life. Ryan is taking a semester off from school this fall so he can volunteer with Fields of Growth International in Uganda. Ryan writes on the Fields of Growth website that he will help construct a school and an orphanage, and also work to help develop sustainable agriculture. Here is a link to the website: http://www.firstgiving.com/ryanflanagan24 There is a link at the top of the site where you can make a donation to help support these projects. Please consider making a donation, and remember that even a small amount of money goes a very long way in Uganda. Inside Lacrosse has also written an article on this subject: http://insidelacrosse.com/news/2010/07/09/il-summer-school-north-carolinas-ryan-flanagan-headed-fields-growth-international

Skills Camp with D1 Coaches
| MOVE IMAGE PLEASE |
On August 7-8th the head coaches of Sacred Heart University and Manhattan College will hold a skills camp in Wilmington, NC. This is a great way to meet and learn from D1 coaches. The cost of the camp is $75/player. This is not in anyway a fundraiser for the local hihg schools or local entity. Please contact me at streman@ec.rr.com. Coach Treman

I agree there are some good players at NM that will not have a place to play. That is terrible. I sincerely hope it works out for them and the team.

A-A selection and new teams
|
"I think you have to keep in mind that the level of lacrosse in New York is a little different than it is in North Carolina. While there are some very good players in this state, I wouldn't be surprised if none of them were All-Americans if they played in New York." Couldn't agree with this statement more. The A-A selection process is a joke, IMHO. Each state is granted an A-A by the powers that be for each 5 varsity teams that it fields. So if all 400 public HSs in NC were to field lacrosse teams, NC could have 80 A-As. The private schools get 3 A-As and if they ever reach 20 private schools playing , they would have 4 A-As. The last year of the NCHSLA, it was a struggle to come up with enough good players that the NCHSLA coaches thought were deserving of A-A status. The process really needs to be changed. An A-A in NC would not necessarily translate to being an A-A in NY or MD or CT. On another subject, new teams coming on board at Northside (2A in Jacksonville), Eastern Alamance-3A (between Burlington and Hillsborough), Burlington Williams-3A should go from JV to varsity as well as East Forsyth near Winston-Salem, Northwood in Pittsboro and Fuquay-Varina (Wake County) are still deciding between staying club or going varsity and the new Heritage HS in Wake Forest (Wake County) will field a JV team since the school only has 9 and 10 grades this year. Also Village Christian in Fayetteville is adding in the private school ranks. Any new schools down in the Charlotte Metro area adding lacrosse, public or private?
