LKN Charter
Could be good, but have a lot of unknowns.

Charter
Nice program but along way from being near the same class as AK or PHS,MP or LKN. If I am correct they didnt even make the playoffs in an extremely weak conf. LKN put up 30 plus goals against them in two games. I think they lost twice to NMeck as well. Until they can compete in their own weak conf not going to have a chance to be considered good.

Charter
What about Lake Norman Charter. Took AK, said to be one of the bettere teams next year according to this site, to over time last year. They return everyone with some additions, thoughts? Good season ahead or still new?

Power
Totally agree with AK and LKN. Catholic if you have so many great "state" players returning then why did MP take it to you this year with the other great players who graduated. I agree with good coaches but talent elsewhere is much better this year

catholic.
they have the best midfielder possibly in the state, one of the best goalies in the state, some very good young sophmore midfielders who are going to surprise people, and a lot of depth that no one knows about along with one of the best coaches in the state. But i guess your right they wont be a contender this year.

Power
Lake Norman and Ardrey Kell are hands down favorites. The both return the most talent

Catholic
I agree I am not sure why there is so much talk about them. Lets focus on the power teams this year. I am not a weddington fan but they will be solid this year as well. I can't talk about LKN but I heard they will be strong and should be a team to beat.

Weddington
WHAT ABOUT WEDDINGTON!!
August 21 2010 12:57:08

Catholic
there seems to be a lot of talk about Charlotte Catholic. They weren't even the best team in Charlotte last season, what makes them any better next year?

weddington
what about weddington?

Better Than Catholic??
LKN? Dont know much about them. Who are their standout players?
August 21 2010 05:52:53

Better than CC...
MP - Not even close
AK & PHS - Maybe
MR - No comment

Lake Norman is most likely to be better than Catholic
August 20 2010 19:42:21

Catholic
MP,PHS, AK, Marvin Ridge all better than Catholic this year!!!!!!!
August 20 2010 06:11:28

Hopewell
The Hopewell Coaching Staff will be stepping down this year. The team has already graduated 21 seniors over the past two seasons and will be returning a varsity team. If anyone is interested please contact Dan McMahon at dan.mcmahon@yahoo.com for more information.

Scenario
I believe, if I'm not mistaken, if said "kid" has already attended High School at a different school (within a certain mileage radius of Catholic) he would have to sit out a year before he would be eligible to play Varsity. If he's starts HS at Catholic then I guess eligibility is not an issue.
August 19 2010 14:10:47

Catholic
Let's quit bashing Catholic. 90% of the students who attend are of the Catholic faith. As a parochial school it is sort of a hybrid. At $9k for high school it is around 40% of the cost of the big private schools in the state. They have been playing in the public leagues for decades. Yes, the Catholic schools win a larger proportion of public North Carolina state championships in all sports than a public school, but they aren't allowed to recruit and they can't give athletic scholarships. None of the private schools can.

Catholic
Scenario: Kid is zoned to attend Butler. Has college lacrosse aspirations, wants to play somewhere with a stronger program. Parents have plenty of money and want to send him where he wants to go. He'd like to attend Myers Park or Providence, but cannot because of the zoning restrictions. He ends up at Catholic.

RE: Inside Lacrosse
Jordan deserves the attention. He is one of the best.

Catholic
Can we move on about Catholic? It is what it is. Seems to me they got beat last year and will not be a contender this year. Seems all this discussion is for nothing. Good team and fun to play but absolutely not a dominate team. There are quite a few teams that are better and will show that on the field this year. So lets talk about the real contenders in Charlotte this year
