StickWithUs.org is pleased to announce the 3rd annual NC Great 38 game will be played on Saturday, May 31 at 7:30 PM @ Queens University Marion Diehl Field.  The game features the best-of-the-best high school seniors in the North Carolina and will once again be televised by Time Warner Cable TV.  2008 also marks the return of the "Shooting Stars" youth all star games.  The action stars at 11AM with a series of area youth All Star games and the evening concludes with the NC Great 38 game.

How Can I view the 2007 NC Great 38 on TV?

The NC Great 38 Lacrosse Game should be available anywhere Time Warner Cable is available by Wednesday, June 6.  It will be featured on Carolina On Demand, Channel 1234.  1234 is the highest number currently available on the digital cable tier. That means in order for people to see the game they must have Time Warner digital cable.  If they do have the digital cable package it is free of charge (no other charges apply like watching a new release movie). If someone does not have Time Warner Cable they can receive a VHS copy by calling Operations Manager Marybeth Westlund at 919.882.4140.  There is a $25 charge for each tape.

The 2007 Lacrosse Wear NC Great 38

2007 ROSTERS

Once again, NC Great 38 will showcase the state of North Carolina’s best high school lacrosse talent. Team Black and Team Blue will face of on June 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Queens University Marion Diehl Athletic Facility in Charlotte.
The event will be highlighted by a roster that includes eighteen past and present state title winners from the NCISAA, NCHSLA 4A and NCHSLA 2A/3A. In addition, eight 2007 North Carolina All-Americans and three North Carolina Academic All-Americans will participate in the exhibition.
The NC Great 38 game will highlight a trio of two-time All-Americans in Tony Mendes (East Chapel Hill/University of Maryland), Bob Kercher (Durham Riverside/University of Maryland) and Lance Landvater (Cardinal Gibbons/Hampden-Sydney College) The offense will feature Division I prospects B.J. Leighton (Apex/UMBC), Evan Helda (Charlotte Country Day/Providence College), Taylor Mendoza (Western Guilford/United States Military Academy) and Casey Leeper (Chapel Hill/Bellarmine). The defensive end of the field will be anchored by goalies Scott Bowles (Western Guilford/Bellarmine) and Ben Read (Forsyth Day School/United States Naval Academy). Charlotte All-Americans Evan Helda (Country Day/Providence College) and Andrew Tanneberger (Latin) join Academic All-American John Horne (Providence Day/US Naval Academy). Other area stars include Providence High School standouts John Chipouras and Tyler Hull; Kyle Rockey (Weddington), Max Daniel (Myers Park), Providence Day seniors John Ryan Sander, Kyle Knoll and Taylor Harper. As well as Catholic’s Dan Caron and Geoff Webber. The 2007 event will be televised by Time Warner Cable “on demand” channel 1234.

All-Star Lacrosse Exhibitions to Showcase North Carolina’s Best!

 

The first inaugural NC Great 38 all-star game promise to showcase the best high school boys’ lacrosse talent in the state of North Carolina.  On Saturday, June 3rd, select players from across North Carolina will gather at Ardrey Kell High School in South Charlotte to compete. 

             

The NC Great 38 face-off in “prime-time” at 7:30 p.m. and will be the culmination of a great day of North Carolina Lacrosse.  The day starts at 12:00 noon with the 3/4th grade shooting stars game and is followed by the 5/6th grade shooting stras game, the 7/8th grade shooting stars game and then the second annual Queen City LAX Stars game at 4:30 PM.

 

The NC Great 38 game will highlight 2005 North Carolina High School All-Americans Joe Howard (C.E. Jordan HS/UNC-Chapel Hill) and Nick Desper (Chapel Hill HS/undecided), as well as a host of future Division I talent.  The offense will feature Tommy D’Alessandro (Charlotte Country Day/Bucknell), Colin Sherwood (Greensboro Grimsley/UNC-Chapel Hill) and Steve Zande (Providence Day School/Fairfield).  The defensive end of the field will be anchored by goalie Brendan Moore (Providence HS/Notre Dame), Ben Peretsman (Providence Day School/Princeton), Joe Vanderlip (Providence HS/Army), Patrick Mulholland (Providence HS/Army), and Luke Andrews (East Chapel Hill HS/Fairfield).
